The µ 1050 SW now in Champagne Gold

Cologne, 22 September 2008 – Who ever said that toughness and elegance are mutually exclusive? With the release of the Champagne Gold version of the µ 1050 SW, Olympus lays all such doubts to rest. This stylishly designed camera not only looks a treat, its shockproof, waterproof and freezeproof body means the µ 1050 SW can keep up, no matter where life takes you. With its miniaturised optics returning maximum brilliance, users enjoy top quality results in an extremely compact form. In addition, a unique TAP Control interface lets a variety of functions to be accessed just by tapping the camera body. The µ 1050 SW in Champagne Gold will be available from early October.

The µ 1050 SW has got it all – style, strength and performance. Its sleek metal body is slim and compact enough to fit into just about any pocket. Beneath its chic Champagne Gold metal exterior, the µ 1050 SW packs a substantial 10.1 Megapixels and a precision 3x optical zoom to capture every detail. Yet despite impressive specs and design, the µ 1050 SW knows how to take a hit – it’s shockproof to 1.5m, waterproof to 3m and freezeproof to -10°C, making it the perfect photographic partner for any environment.

An exceptional list of features rounds out the µ 1050 SW package, which includes Digital Image Stabilisation to prevent blur due to camera shake and Advanced Face Detection Technology to enable up to 16 faces to be recognised and focused on in a single shot. Meanwhile, thanks to the TruePic III image processor, speed is boosted and image quality enhanced.

The stylish Champagne Gold version of the tough µ 1050 SW will be available from early October and joins four other models that are obtainable in Dolphin Grey, Midnight Black, Pacific Blue and Misty Rose.
