Information for treatment facilities according to article 11 of the European Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)

According to article 11 European Directive 2002/96/EC all electronic products introduced after August 2005 are marked with a crossed-out waste bin logo. This symbol indicates that equipment shall not be disposed off in the household waste but in separate collection systems.                

                 

In order to facilitate the reuse and the correct and environmentally sound treatment of WEEE - including maintenance, upgrade, refurbishment and recycling - Olympus provides reuse and treatment information for each type of new electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) put on the market.

This information identifies:
- the different components and materials, as well as
- the location of dangerous substances and preparations in electrical and electronic equipment.

The reuse and treatment information will be made available on request to reuse centres, treatment and recycling facilities in the form of manuals or by means of electronic media (e.g. CD-ROM, online services).
